Hi everyone,
My name is Mery de la Cruz, I'm 23 and will be serving as your secretary of the International Student Association Umami for the academic year 2023-2024.
I was born and raised in Aruba and have spent the last 4 years living in the Netherlands while pursuing my bachelor's degree in Health Sciences at the University of Maastricht. So far, I've had the pleasure of enjoying both living in the Netherlands and the international community within the master's program.
I chose to participate in the master's program Health Food and Innovation Management to learn more about the numerous aspects of the nutrition industry and how food affects health and illness, since I've always been interested in human health, biology, and nutrition.
As the secretary, my duties include responding to emails, updating this website, composing the minutes of board meetings and the monthly newsletter, providing assistance to other members when requested, and managing our social media accounts in coordination with our media committee.
I am very excited to be working with my fellow board members on this new task. I'm confident we'll learn a lot together and, above all, have a great time making this an unforgettable year filled with wonderful memories for all the ISA Umami members!
