Secretary and Vice-Chairwoman
"After the first ISA Umami event of the academic year, I immediately knew that I really wanted to join the association so I could be a more active member of the student community, and also to meet some new people along the way. "
I am Natacha, and I am thrilled to announce that I will be fulfilling the role of secretary for the International Student Association Umami 2020-2021! I am originally from Portugal but have lived abroad most of my life, and prior to starting the HFIM Masters Program at Maastricht University, I graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Anatomy, and a MSc in 3D Medical Visualization and Human Anatomy.
I have always been fascinated by the physiological mechanisms underlying the human body, however, it was during my gap year when I had no choice but to really focus on my physical wellbeing, that I started to obtain a stronger interest in food specialty items, nutrition and health. Soon after, I applied to Health Food Innovation Management Masters Program, which really peaked my interest due to its multi-disciplinary approach to food innovations.
After the first ISA Umami event of the academic year, I immediately knew that I really wanted to join the association so I could be a more active member of the student community, and also to meet some new people along the way.
As secretary, my duties will be to maintain effective correspondence within the Umami association, writing the monthly ISA Umami Newsletter, taking the board minutes during meetings, helping all my fellow Umami members with any necessary tasks, as well as working closely with the Media Committee to update and create new content for all the ISA Umami social media platforms.
I am really looking forward to working closely with all my fellow Umami board members so we can make this a fantastic year full of educational events and fun activities for all members! If you have any questions, or ideas you would like to share feel free to contact me.
See you around!
